Carabao Cup: Ndidi absent, Iheanacho sees minutes as Leicester City ease to next round

Leicester City returned to the football action after the FIFA World Cup tournament to a comfortable win over MK Dons at the MK Stadium in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Goals within 50 minutes from Youri Tielemans, Ayoze Pérez and Jamie Vardy ensured the win of the Foxes on the night and progress to the quarter finals for the fifth time in six years.

However, from Nigeria's perspective, midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was not dressed for the game while striker, Kelechi Iheanacho saw some minutes of action after his introduction in the second half.

Tielemans put the ball into the back of the net after a Vardy strike had hit  Jamie Cumming's knee to bounce the Belgian after 18 minutes.

In the 29th minute, Perez plucked Thomas’ inch-perfect forward ball out of the heavens with a single, sublime touch, later calmly slotting it into the bottom corner.

Leicester's dominance grew after the break and Vardy made it three as he nodded in Castagne's dinked cross to complete the scoring in a one-sided victory.

City plays Newcastle on Boxing Day as the Premier League resumes this week.
