Carabao Cup: Adeniran Makes Everton Matchday Squad For The First Time Against Leicester City

Published on: 19 December 2019

Versatile Nigerian midfielder Dennis Adeniran made an Everton matchday squad for the first time since his arrival from Fulham two years ago as the Toffees were beaten on penalties by Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Although he was spotted warming up on the touchline during the game, Everton interim manager Duncan Ferguson did not utilize him off the bench.

Adeniran often trains with Everton's first team and was named in the matchday 18 on the back of his outstanding form for the U23 squad in the Premier League 2.

He didn't feature for Everton U23s against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday fueling speculation that he was in contention to make his debut in yesterday's match with The Foxes.

The London-born starlet made his professional debut in the EFL Cup in August 2016 whilst at Fulham and had five first team matches under his belt before he departed Craven Cottage.

Everton fought back from two goals down to square it at 2-2 , taking the game to a shootout which was won by Leicester City.

Wilfred Ndidi went the distance for the visitors, teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was a non-playing substitute and Everton's Alex Iwobi was in action for 78 minutes.
