Calm Returns To Super Eagles’ Camp, Players Focus On Beating Cameroon

Published on: 04 July 2019

Super Eagles players have all resolved to put behind them Sunday’s shocking 2-0 loss to Madagascar and go all out for a win in their Round of 16 encounter against defending champions Cameroon, reports Completesports.com.

The encounter against the Indomitable Lions will take place at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday. The kick-off is 5pm Nigerian time.

The three-time African champions ended their run of nine successive wins following Sunday’s reverse against the Barea.

There were reports of discord in the Eagles’ camp with some of the players allegedly not happy with the tactics deployed by head coach Gernot Rohr in the competition so far.

All that and other issues, Completesports.com learnt, have been put to rest with the players determined to send out the Cameroonians from the competition.

The Super Eagles have won two and lost one of their three games in the competition so far.

The former champions finished in second position in Group B behind the Barea of Madagascar.

Cameroon also ended up in second position behind the Black Stars of Ghana in Group F with five points from one win and two draws.
