Serie A club Cagliari are set to step up their efforts to sign Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Italian club is desperate to bolster its attack this month and has turned its attention to Dessers after negotiations for another forward fell through.
However, Cagliari may face competition from fellow Serie A side Empoli, who have also been linked with the 30-year-old Nigerian international.
Dessers has found himself down the pecking order at Rangers following the emergence of Hamza Igamane and may seek a move to secure more regular playing time.
Despite this, Dessers reminded fans of his abilities with a stunning goal in Rangers' 2-1 Europa League loss to Manchester United on Thursday.
This season, Dessers has impressed with 17 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for Rangers.
