CAFCL: Plateau United earn a point in Gabon

Plateau United kicked off their CAF Champions League campaign with a draw against Gabonese side, AS Stade Mandji.

 

The Peace Boys played a 2-2 draw with the team from Gabon on Saturday away from home at the Port Gentil.

 

Plateau United were the first to draw the first blood after scoring early in the first half through Onyebuchi Ifeanyi.

 

The Gabonese side responded  few minutes later as the host scored to make it one all.

 

Few minutes after the 30 minutes mark CHAN Eagles player Mohammed Zulkifilu restored the Jos side's lead.

 

However, Mandji equalled scored again minutes later to end the half dominated by the representative from Nigeria in stalemate.

 

The second half came alive with United keeping the first half momentum, but the goals didn't come to leave the score the same way as the first.

 

The return leg comes up on Sunday 18th September, at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
