CAFCL: Plateau United book next round ticket at AS Mandji's expense

Plateau United at the end of the final whistle were victorious in their second leg tie against Stade Mandji at the MKO Abiola Stadium on Sunday.

The Nigeria representatives were one nil winners and progressed to the second round of the CAF Champions League on a 3-2 aggregate.

A goal by Haggai Katoh was all that coach Fidelis Ilechukwu boys needed to win the tie.

After failing to convert chances in the first half that left the score barren, Nenrot Silas still couldn't find his goal scoring boot in the second half.

However, by the 63rd minute, Katoh with an header left the goalkeeper stranded to give the home side a one nil lead.

Plateau United continued their dominance of the game, but couldn't increase the goal tally, ending the tie with a 1-0 nil result.

Plateau United will play Esperance of Tunisia in a two legged affair in the second round.
