CAFCC: Rivers United goalie confident team will do well

Goalkeeper of Nigeria League Champions, Rivers United, Darlington Ovunda is quite optimistic of his side's chances of doing well in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Pride of Rivers had lost to defending champions, Wydad Athletic of Morocco in the CAF Champions League 2-7 on aggregate and dropped to the playoff round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

However, another opportunity presents itself as they play Al Nasr Benghazi though the second tier of African club football, Ovunda revealed they are in good spirit to correct past wrongs.

”The spirit is very high and we are optimistic that come Wednesday we are going to get it right.

We are very prepared and ready and we are hoping and believing that we will deliver”, he said.

The two sides will lock horns in the first leg on Wednesday, November 2 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium at 2pm.

The second leg is scheduled for November 9 in Libya according to the draw released by Confederation of African Football.
