CAFCC: "It's not yet over" - Stanley Eguma sends warning to Young Africans

Published on: 25 April 2023

Despite losing the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal 2-0 at home to Young Africans of Tanzania, Stanley Eguma believes its not over yet for his boys as they prepare for the second leg clash next Sunday, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The Pride of Rivers as they are fondly called were beaten by their visitors in the first leg thanks to a second half brace from Congolese striker Fiston Mayele.

The result leave them with a mountain to climb when they visit Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium next Sunday but the coach believes his boys can get the job done.

"I think we have to go back to the drawing board and work harder to ensure that we get our rhythm for the second leg," Stanley Eguma said post match.

"It's not yet over, we will still bounce back in the next game."

Rivers United missed the services of key players like Morris Chukwu, Onoja Joseph, and the team's highest goal scorer, Paul Aqua in the first leg due to injuries and it is yet to be confirmed if any of them will return for the second leg.
