CAFCC: Festus Austin optimistic Rivers will beat Young African

Rivers United Captain, Festus Austin has spoken positively of his side's chances when they play Tanzanian side, Young African in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter final in Uyo this Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Austin who has been a long standing presence in United's team tells that he and his teammates are ready to do the needful when the play at the Uyo Stadium, a stadium he says is a favourable ground.

“Uyo has been a favourable ground for us, not just in the CAF Confederation Cup, even in the league, ” He said ahead of the clash after Friday's training.

”The last three seasons we’ve been having good results here so we are hopeful we will get something positive on Sunday against Young Africans.”

Austin who knows what it means to win after playing a part in the "Pride of Rivers" winning the NPFL last season says the target of the team is to win the trophy.

“We know the importance of this game to the whole country and we have set a target for ourselves to win this trophy. We assure our fans that we will not disappoint, please come out on Sunday and support us,” he appealed.

The two teams have a date on Sunday (today) at the Goodwill Akpabio Stadium at 2pm.
