NPFL Champions, Rivers United, have landed in Morocco for their second leg match up against Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca, Morocco.
After defeating the three time CAF Champions League winners on Sunday, Rivers United, have arrived the North African country on early hour of Friday. The arrival according to the team, is to help the players acclamitise in the North African country ahead of the decisive leg.
The Pride of Rivers on their Facebook handle made this known immediately they landed in Morocco.
"Our contingent comprising of players and officials have touched down in Casablanca, Morocco ahead of CAF Champions League 2nd preliminary round, 2nd leg tie on Sunday against Wydad Athletic Club.”
"The Royal Air Maroc fight touched down at the Casablanca airport at 11:52pm on Thursday."
Against all expectations, Rivers United came from a goal down to beat African champions, Wydad Casablanca, 2-1, at the Adokie Amiesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt to put one leg in the group stage of the money-spinning CAF Champions League.
The decisve Second leg will hold on Sunday at the Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca
