CAF Champions League: MC Alger, TP Mazembe and ASEC Mimosas face Sunday tests

The first legs of the CAF Champions League preliminary round continue on Sunday, with 13 matches scheduled across the continent, including tests for MC Alger, TP Mazembe and ASEC Mimosas.

MC Alger travel to Niamey to face Nigelec, while ASCK of Kara host ASEC Mimosas in Lome in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the day.

TP Mazembe are also in action away from home against Medeama in Ghana. Other notable ties include UD Songo against Petro Atletico, Mighty Wanderers versus Simba SC and Colombe’s meeting with Stade Malien.

The 13-match programme will bring the first leg of the preliminary round close, with clubs looking to establish an advantage before the return fixtures.

The day begins at 11:30, when La Cure Waves face Orlando Pirates. Gor Mahia then meet Pyramids FC at 12:00, followed by two matches at 13:00: Aigles du Congo against APR FC and Mighty Wanderers against Simba SC.

Scottland FC will play Nsingizini Hotspurs at 13:00, while UD Songo take on Petro Atletico at the same time.

The afternoon schedule features five matches. Colombe play Stade Malien at 15:00, alongside Medeama’s tie with TP Mazembe. Rangers International face AS Sobemap, also at 15:00, while Wiliete meet Foresters.

ASCK and ASEC Mimosas are due to kick off at 15:30 in Lome. Nigelec’s home fixture against MC Alger follows at the same time in Niamey.

The final match on Sunday is scheduled for 19:00, with MAS de Fes taking on Rahimo FC.
