Ghana trio Yaw Frimpong, Solomon Asante and Daniel Nii Adjei were named in the TP Mazembe starting line-up which beat Stade Malien 2-1 to reach the Group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Compatriots Gladson Awako and Richard Kissi Boateng were on the bench as the Ravens advanced 4-3 on aggregate.
Defender Jean Kasusula put the locals ahead in Kamalondo after 20 minutes of play, curling his free-kick past keeper Djigi Diarra into the back of the net.
Tanzania international Mbwana Samatta came close to giving Mazembe a two-goal cushion in the 56th minute, but that was ultimately Ousmane Diabaté who fired a powerful shot past Robert Kidiaba from range for the equaliser seven minutes later.
However, it took only three minutes to Patrice Carteron’s men to restore their lead, thanks to Ivoirian forward Roger Assalé with the help of the crossbar.
TP Mazembe will know their Group opponents on Tuesday when the draw is held in Cairo.
