CAF CC: Kwara United outclass AS Douanes in Lagos

Kwara United outclassed AS Douanes in the first leg of the preliminary round fixture of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup played in Lagos on Sunday evening, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The Afonja Warriors in a dominant first half display scored 3 goals from the boots of Paul Samson and Wasiu Jimoh.

With just 5 minutes into the game, Paul Samson opened the scoring latching onto a loosed ball from AS Douanes goalkeeper.

Kwara United were awarded a penalty after their defender handed Paul Samson's shot in the 18-yard box.

With 5 minutes left to end the first half, Wasiu Jimoh scored his brace of the evening picking up the ball near the midfield and then making a run into the box to give the Harmony Boys a 3-0 lead.

A entertaining second half produced no goal but both teams gave a good account of themselves.

AS Douanes dominated the half forcing Adewale of Kwara United to a couple of good saves.

A wonderful and entertaining game it was at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena as Kwara United takes a 3 goal lead into the second leg next Sunday in Niamey, Benin Republic.
