Super Eagles coach José Peseiro has heaped praises on Women's African Football of the year Asisat Oshoala, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Oshoala was on Thursday evening in Morocco announced as the Women African Player of the year for a record five times, thus surpassing former Falcons legend Perpetual Nkwocha.

While sending his congratulatory message to Oshoala on Friday afternoon, Peseiro also took time to praise the Falcons for picking up 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup ticket.

"With hard work and persistence, we can reap the rewards.

"Congratulations to Asisat Oshoala for winning her fifth CAF's Women's Player of the Year award and to the Nigerian national team for reaching their ninth consecutive World Cup.

"The whole country is proud of all of you," he said.

The Super Falcons secured a spot in next year's World Cup to be co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia after beating Cameroon by a lone goal in the quarterfinal of the ongoing WAFCON in Morocco.
