CAF Awards: Nnadozie, Danjuma, Okwuchukwu, Edo Queens make top 5 shortlist

Nigeria Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Falconets Coach Christopher Danjuma, U-17 Women's World Cup star, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, Edo Queens, and Nigeria Women National team have all made the top 5 of their categories, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed the top five of each of the categories on Wednesday and just like the first list of nominees for various categories released a couple of weeks ago, Nigeria has good representation.

In the player of the year position, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie will be slugging it out with Tabitha Chawinga, Temwa Chawinga, Sanaa Mssoudy, and Barbara Banda.

Nnadozie was also shortlisted for the goalkeeper of the year alongside Fideline Ngoy, Habiba Sabry, Khadija Er-rmichi, and Andile Dlamini.

Coach Danjuma has Lamia Boumehdi, Ahmed Ramadan, Mohamed Amine Alioua, and Thinasonke Mbili to contend with in the Coach of the Year category.

Other Nigerians who. cut are Chiamaka Okwuchukwu for the Young Player Award, Edo Queens for the Club of the Year, and the Nigeria Women Football National Team for the National Team of the Year award.

The award comes up on the 16th of December, 2024 at the Palais des Congrès Movenpick Marrakech, Morocco.
