CAF Awards: Asisat Oshoala becomes Women's player of the year for the 6th time as Nnadozie emerge women goalkeeper of the year

Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala has been named the Confederation of African Football Women's Player of the Year award for record sixth time, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Barcelona Femeni striker was named as the best in the coveted individual award in a gala in Marrakesh, Morocco on Monday.

Oshoala beat off competition from South Africa and Racing Louisville's Thembi Kgatlana and Zambia and Shanghai Sengli's Barbra Banda.

The 29-year-old who helped Nigeria to a round of 16 place at the last FIFA Women's World Cup have now won the award for the 5th consecutive time.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie also emerge the best women goalkeeper of the year at the award.

She beat fellow goalkeepers in the form of Moroccan shot-stopper Khadija El-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Olaminii.

The Paris FC shot stopper was an integral part of the Nigeria Super Falcons team that finished in the round of 16 in the last FIFA Women's World Cup.
