The goals came from Florian Wirtz's first-ever finish after Exequiel Palacios's ball fell to his path in the 86th minute and Nathan Tella's header from Alejandro Grimaldo's exquisite cross in the 37th minute although, Moritz Jenz of Wolfsburg had already seen red in the 29th minute for a clumsy challenge.

With this win, after 36 games in all competitions this season, the Werkself are still undefeated.

The former Burnley player explained in a post-match interview why many were surprised by his goal.

Tella stated: "No one expects me to score headers on the back post because of my height".

"It's a way to get more goals and it's something I want to practice and when I have teammates like Alejandro Grimaldo who can cross to me like this, it will be impossible for me to miss".

Tella and his colleagues will next play Qarabag on Thursday, March in the second leg of their round of 16 Europa League match as they look to maintain their unbeaten run and seal progression.
