Sunderland forward Brian Brobbey has been named the Premier League’s best player of the fifth round, according to the competition’s press service.
Brobbey scored all three of Sunderland’s goals in their away match against Manchester City. His hat-trick was not enough to earn his side any points, however, as Sunderland were beaten 5-3 in Manchester.
The Netherlands international now has three Premier League goals this season, putting him joint third in the division’s scoring standings. Only Alexander Isak, with four, and Erling Haaland, with five, have scored more.
Sunderland are 14th in the Premier League table.
