Samuel Opoku Nti has been sacked as Asante Kotoko Chief Executive with a benefactor of the club Dr. Kwaku Frimpong of Champion Divine Clinic replacing him, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

The former Ghana international is paying a heavy price for the side’s trophyless campaign this season.

Kotoko ended the season without a caricature of a title after losing out on all fronts, struggling to stay afloat this term with a poor run of form.

The future of Opoku Nti has been hugely speculated with GHANAsocernet.com revealing extensively he will be sacked at the end of the current campaign.

There have been mounting pressure on the club to dispense with his service following massive criticism over his handling of the club.

He has been accused of running ‘school-boy’ management since he took over from the celebrated Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong amid perceived lac of technical know-how of his job.

The life patron and owner of the club Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11 has relieved him off his post which has not really surprised many.

The managerial direction of the Ghanaian giants has come under tight scrutiny amid growing report of lack of sense of focus, leading to widespread believe that the dismissed General Manager lacks the competence and pedigree to lead the club to continental success.

Kotoko played catch-ups to regional rivals Ashantigold and Medeama after losing the Premier League and FA Cup to the two sides respectively.

Their problem was heightened by their sorry 3-1 defeat to Ashantigold in the prestigious Otumfuo Cup on Sunday which followed their defeat to rivals Hearts of Oak in the President’s Cup.

Former board member Dr Kwaku Frimpong, who is billed to take over the club, has been leading a crusade to get Danish Tommy Moller Nielsen appointed as technical director.

Ghana’s leading football website, GHANAsoccernet.com, broke the news about the imminent appointment of the European but Kotoko officials strenuously denied any linkage.

But again the story has proven to be authentic as the former Rangers and Aberdeen will get a new job at the club barring any unforeseen contingencies.
