Kwesi Appiah’s impressive showcase for Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations has earned him a new two-year contract extension with English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The 24-year-old striker has signed an extension to his contract that will keep him at Selhurst Park until 2017.

Appiah has made ten appearances for Palace since joining the Eagles in 2012, while he has also had loan spells at Cambridge United, Notts County and AFC Wimbledon.

Appiah told the club's official website: "It's been a great year for me. I did well on loan at Cambridge United and on the back of that I got a call-up to the Ghanaian national team which I'm thankful for.

"It's put me in good stead coming back to Crystal Palace after the Africa Cup of Nations so the season has gone from strength to strength.

"Myself and Alan Pardew have had a few chats since I've come back and he's been very complimentary about my game, he's taken to me a little bit and asked me to do a few things to prove myself to him and earn this contract and it seems as though I've done that, so I'm delighted."

Appiah has been named in Ghana's squad to face Senegal and Mali in this month's international friendlies meant to prepare the team for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June.
