Breaking News: Asamoah Gyan returns to Ghana's starting XI to face Ivory Coast in AFCON final; Jordan dropped
Asamoah Gyan

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has passed a late fitness test to lead the Black Stars against the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.

The Al Ain talisman suffered an abdominal injury after Guinean goalkeeper Naby Yattara kicked him in the dying minutes of the quarter-finals match between the two sides.

But Gyan has returned to partner Kwesi Appiah in attack for the Black Stars as they take on the Elephants at the Estadio de Bata on Sunday evening.

Coach Avram Grant has maintained his defensive quartet made up of Harrison Afful and Baba Rahman as fullbacks with John Boye and Jonathan Mensah in the central positions.

Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu will start on the flanks for Ghana with Mubarak Wakaso and Afriyie Acquah once again playing in central midfield.

Black Stars starting line-up:

Razak Brimah, Harrison Afful, Baba Rahman, Jonathan Mensah, John Boye, Mubarak Wakaso, Afriyie Acquah, Andre Ayew, Christian Atsu, Asamoah Gyan,Kwesi Appiah

Ghana have not won any trophy ever since the introduction of offside in football, they played with a single ball then, unlike this recent time where many balls are used...only 8 countries were participating then. There Coah will always take you to final, but he wont win

Good lineup. I hope Gyan is at least 80% fit. I like the agility of the team, especially the forward line. The Gyan-Appiah pair is always threatening.
