Middlesbrough wideman Albert Adomah is at not at risk of a suspension should he picked up a second successive yellow card against Brentford on Friday.
The 27-year-old was booked in their 2-1 win at Griffin Park over the weekend which prompted fears he could miss the dream play-off final should Boro progress.
But the Football League has confirmed only a red on Friday would lead to a ban.
This means should the Ghanaian international pick up another caution in Friday’s second leg at the Riverside, he would still be eligible for the play-off final at Wembley - if Boro finish the job.
Adomah, who has been an influential member of Aitor Karanka’s side, has picked up 10 cautions this season.
