Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface is eager to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire next year, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The lanky forward has been jealousy protected by his German club who through their CEO, Fernando Carro earlier complained about the timing of the competition and claimed the club will take legal action to prevent the Boniface and his compatriot, Nathan Tella from taking part in the competition.
With the AFCON 2023 staging from January 13 to February 11, the forward however hopes to fulfill a lifetime ambition by representing Nigeria at AFCON 2023.“It is the dream of every football player from Nigeria to represent their country and win a trophy for the country,” Boniface told DW via Daily Post.
“So, we’re looking forward to the next AFCON.”
