Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso has provided an injury update on Victor Boniface ahead of the away trip to Augsburg with the forward set to miss the trip as he continues his recovery, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Super Eagles striker won't be risked as the coach stated. He is not an option for the match in Augsburg. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to make his comeback in the last home game in 2024 against SC Freiburg on Saturday, 21 December at the BayArena).
Boniface has been out of action since sustaining a thigh injury while on international duty last month.
The 23-year-old striker was initially projected to be sidelined until the end of the year.
