Boniface can return to top form - Rolfes

Published on: 12 July 2024

Bayer Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes is confident that Victor Boniface will recapture his impressive form from last season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 23-year-old forward made a remarkable start to his Leverkusen career, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists in the first half of the season before being hampered by a four-month injury layoff.

Although Boniface returned to action towards the end of the season, he struggled to regain his previous form.

Rolfes believes that with time, Boniface will rediscover his explosiveness and mental toughness, enabling him to fully engage in physical duels.

"Regaining explosiveness and confidence takes time, both physically and mentally," Rolfes told Kicker via Daily Post. "But I'm confident he'll be in a completely different state at the start of the season."

Rolfes' backing suggests that Boniface remains a key player in Leverkusen's plans, and the club is willing to support his return to top form.
