Blackburn Rovers Fans Make a Stand: #VenkysOut Trends Worldwide

Published on: 31 May 2016

Blackburn Rovers fans made headlines on Tuesday evening after a resurgence in the 'Venky's Out' campaign.

Rovers find themselves manager-less and have just 14 recognised first team players under contract for next season and following a lengthy wait - with underwhelming names like Owen Coyle being banded around - the Rovers fans have decided it's time to protest once more.

Taking to Twitter, Blackburn fans have been using the #VenkysOut hash-tag to try and drum up national awareness and persuade the clubs owners into finally leaving a club they have sent into free fall.

Even some non-Blackburn Rovers supporters have been chipping in with their own tweets too.

14 Players, 1 Director, £100m + debt, no interest, no idea, no chance. #brfc #VenkysOut

It should also been noted that Blackburn Rovers have recently announced their pre-season fixture list of friendlies.

I'm not even a Rovers fan but I've seen how far down the club has fallen. Venkys have absolutely destroyed it. #VenkysOut NOW!

The away game at Blackpool on July 23rd is already being singled out as a prime opportunity to resume the protest against the owners, and there is also talk that Blackburn and Blackpool fans could join forces in an effort against both clubs tyrannous leaders.

Blackburn is a family run club with a rich history steeped in glory, but now the club's reputation within the football world is under threat.

Blackburn fans need the supported of the wider football community, it's time to get behind the protests, and it's time to put a stop to negligence in the politics of football.
