Besiktas Reject Ajax Loan Bid for Super Eagles Captain Wilfred Ndidi

Turkish Super Lig heavyweights Besiktas have rejected an approach from Dutch champions Ajax for Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, insisting the Nigerian midfielder is not for sale, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ajax were reported to have proposed a €2 million loan deal with an option to make the move permanent for €12 million, but the Istanbul-based club turned down the offer outright, making it clear that Ndidi remains a key part of their plans.

Ndidi only joined Besiktas last summer from English Championship side Leicester City and has quickly established himself as a central figure in the club’s midfield. His experience, leadership, and tactical intelligence have made him an integral part of Besiktas’ long-term sporting project, prompting the club to resist any attempts to lure him away.

The 29-year-old has also maintained his importance on the international scene, playing a pivotal role for Nigeria’s Super Eagles during their impressive third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

With the January transfer window ongoing, Besiktas have adopted a firm stance, signalling their intention to keep their squad intact and avoid weakening their midfield by allowing Ndidi’s departure.
