Vitoria Guimarães attacking midfielder Bernard Mensah has been named GHANAsoccernet.com's Young Player of the Year 2014.
The New Year Day announcement sees the 20-year-old beat other contenders Frank Acheampong, Koby Arthur, Jeffrey Schlupp and others nominated to the award.
Mensah, a product of Fetteh Feyenoord has enjoyed a flourishing first-half of the season in the Portuguese top-flight despite his tender age.
Guimarães' form in the league is on the shoulders of the Ghanaian youngster who has bagged four goals and is a joint top-scorer along with Portuguese André André and Jonathan Alves.
His performance is already courting interest around Europe with Spanish La Liga outfit Valencia having their 2 million Euro offer for him thrown away by Guimarães.
