Former Hearts of Oak striker Bernard Don Bortey has advised the club to go for experienced players that will help restore the club’s lost glory.

The Phobians have been a pale shadow of themselves in recent times and have struggled to dominate on the domestic scene.

They will be playing in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup and have drawn AS Police of Benin in the preliminary round qualifier.

Don Bortey, who was a key member of the Champions League winning squad of 2000, says the club will need marquee signings to boost their campaign.

"Herbert Addo is an experienced coach who has handled a club in Africa before so he can do well. But, he will need three experienced players to join the current setup and the club will do well,” he said.

"It’s been almost ten years now since Hearts won a major cup so they should learn from us and do the right things."
