Algeria coach Farid Benstiti has praised his players for their determined performance in the 0-0 draw against the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The North Africans employed a defensive strategy for most of the game, with goalkeeper Chloé N’Gazi making crucial saves to deny the nine-time champions.

Benstiti commended his players for their tactical discipline and resilience, which earned them a valuable point.

“We knew it would take a perfect defensive game to hold Nigeria. I’m proud of the girls – they showed heart and tactical maturity,” he told CAFonline as par DailyPost.

Algeria finished second in Group B with five points from three games, setting up a quarterfinal match against host nation Morocco's Atlas Lionesses on Friday.
