The German Bundesliga side have turned their attention to the Nigerian starlet after a move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk stalled.

According to information from German newspaper Bild, Manchester City would pocket 11.5 million euros (approximately N5 billion) in transfer fee if Edozie's move to Bayer Leverkusen materializes.

The report added that Bayer Leverkusen are not desperate to sign the Anglo-Nigerian, with five wingers already on their payroll.

The 19-year-old has received five call-ups to Manchester City's first team for official matches but only appeared once on the pitch, against Leicester City in last season's Community Shield which the Cityzens lost 1-0. Edozie played 65 minutes that day.

Edozie helped Manchester City's development squad win the Premier League 2 title in back-to-back seasons, scoring five goals in 29 games in the division.

He joined the Etihad outfit from Millwall in the summer of 2019.

Samuel Edozie will be looking at the success former Manchester City academy player Jadon Sancho had in Germany after leaving England. And also the success of Jude Bellingham. It is a sign of more English players taking risks and venturing abroad to play their football.

The young Englishman will join the Bundesliga club ahead of next season, and will be playing with young players such as Florian Wirtz, and another ex-Manchester City academy player Jeremie Frimpong.

Edozie has made 58 appearances for Manchester City across all age groups, scoring 13 goals and assisting 10 times.

Will Samuel Edozie light up the Bundesliga? That we have to wait and see.
