Bassey ecstatic after scoring first Super Eagles goal

Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey, has revealed how happy he was after scoring his first goal for Nigeria, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Fulham man scored his first-ever goal for Nigeria, heading in a superb cross from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in their 1-1 draw against South Africa.

Bassey celebrated the proud moment on social media and declared that the Super Eagles will continue fighting for a 2026 World Cup ticket.

“Honoured to wear this shirt and score my first goal. We didn’t win, but we keep believing, if anyone can do it, it is God,” Bassey wrote

The 25-year-old has now made 32 appearances for the three-time African champions.
