Barcelona tracking Rayan Cherki ahead of possible 2027 move

Published on: 03 October 2026

Barcelona are monitoring Rayan Cherki’s situation at Manchester City as they begin planning potential transfer-market moves for the summer of 2027.

According to Fichajes, the Catalan club is keeping a close watch on the French-Algerian attacker, although there have been no negotiations involving Cherki, Manchester City or Barcelona at this stage. No fee has been discussed for a possible offer.

Manchester City situation under scrutiny

Barcelona’s interest is partly linked to developments at Manchester City, who are currently involved in a Premier League procedure concerning alleged financial irregularities.

Should the process result in a sanction, it could have consequences for Manchester City’s squad and force the English club to reconsider some of its plans. Barcelona are therefore assessing whether circumstances at clubs facing difficulties could create opportunities in the transfer market.

The Catalan side is considering several possible scenarios for 2027, including the prospect of pursuing players who may become available if their clubs are forced to make significant changes.

For now, Barcelona’s approach is limited to monitoring the situation. Cherki’s performances over the coming months, together with the outcome of the procedure involving Manchester City, could influence whether the matter develops further.

Cherki transfer not an immediate priority

The next summer transfer window is not yet a priority in relation to Cherki. Barcelona intend to wait before taking any concrete steps and will continue to follow the player’s progress.

If the proceedings in England lead to major changes within the Manchester City squad, Cherki’s position could take on greater significance in the summer of 2027. Until then, Barcelona are expected to maintain their interest without opening formal discussions.

Manchester City are due to face Liverpool in their sixth league match of the season. Betting odds listed for the fixture are 2.50 for a Manchester City victory, 3.85 for a draw and 2.63 for a Liverpool win.
