Barcelona have matched the best start in the club’s history in the Spanish top flight after beating Getafe to secure an eighth consecutive victory this season.
Despite the absence of Raphinha, the Catalan side produced another entertaining performance and scored three goals against Getafe.
The winning run has now taken Barcelona level with the record they set at the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign, when they also won their first eight league matches.
That sequence ended in the ninth round, when Barcelona were held to a goalless draw by Osasuna.
Barcelona’s next opportunity to set a new club record will come against Real Betis. However, unlike the trip to northern Navarre in 2013-14, the Catalan side will travel to southern Andalusia to face the Seville-based club.
