Baldwin Bazuaye has quit Katsina United, who he helped to stay up in the NPFL this past season, and he is now most likely to join hometown club Bendel Insurance, who feature in the second-tier NNL.

“Bazuaye has tendered his resignation letter at Katsina United,” a source revealed.

The former Mighty Jets of Jos coach joined Katsina United at the beginning of the 2016/2017 NPFL season as assistant to Bala Nikyu.

The former international winger then took over ‘Changi Boys’ when Nikyu quit the top coaching post during the season.

He ensured Katsina United maintained an unbeaten record at home, but they could only manage three draws away from Katsina.

He guided the team to 16th position.

Once a top club in Nigeria, Insurance have struggled to restore lost glory, but the new Edo State Government is committed to get the club back on track by the coming season and Bazuaye could now be part of this revival.
