In-form Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman has revealed that playing at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey played a key role in his career rise.
The left-back was pivotal for the Black Satellites which finished third in Turkey and was one of the tournament’s key players, according to the Technical Study Group.
Rahman’s tackling abilities, technique and attacking drive made him exceptional and head and shoulders above his competitors.
The Augsburg man remembers the tournament fondly and regards it as “extremely important” for his personal development.
“A World Cup is always something very special. What’s more, I played regularly at the tournament and had an international opportunity to demonstrate that I’m a good footballer," he told FIFA.com
