Ghana start their quest for a fourth African Youth Championship against an improved South Africa side in Mbour on Monday afternoon.

The Black Satellites finished their last training session at the Caroline Feye Stadium on Sunday with a clean bill of health.

Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh has led the Black Satellites to two victories over South Africa at the African Championship in 2009, as well as at the FIFA World Cup.

The former Rwanda boss knows his side are not guaranteed a stroll-in-the park victory against a familiar foe.

"They (South Africa) are a familiar side but I respect every team that has qualified. The fact that we keep meeting them at tournaments should tell you the development and progression of their youth system,” Tetteh said.

"It won't be an easy task; it will be an uphill task but when it gets to the crunch, we will overcome."

South Africa are riding on a crest of wave after winning the Commonwealth Cup in Russia

The Amajita have beaten Ghana once- in the semi-final of the 1997 Championship in Morocco.

Ghana will also face Zambia and Mali in the other Group B matches.

Qualification to the semi-finals will secure a slot to the 2015 FIFA Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand.
