Awoniyi Fail to Score As Union Berlin draw at Home

Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi failed to find the back of the net for the third game running as Union Berlin were held to a goalless draw at Freiburg.

Awoniyi last scored on December 3rd in a 2-1 home win against Leipzig in the league.

He was then replaced in the 72nd minute of the game which was his 16th in the German top flight.

Following the result Union Berlin are now in 8th place on 24 points in the league standing.

 

And in another league game, Kevin Akpoguma featured for Hoffenheim who came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Bayer Leverkusen.

Akpoguma, who started the game was however replaced before the start of the second half.

Leverkusen were reduced to 10 men after Moussa Diaby was shown his second yellow card.

Hoffenheim move into the top four on 27 points after 16 round of games played so far.
