Published on: 02 November 2016

President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has revealed that Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr will give technical support to the Super Falcons, ahead of Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Speaking at the FIFA Female Leadership Development Programme, The Accelerator Project in Abuja coordinated by head of women football , Ruth David, the NFF boss expressed confidence in the Super Falcons coaching crew led by Florence Omagbemi, but added that support from Rohr will enhance their chances of retaining the cup they won in 2014 in Namibia.

"We have high regard for the Falcons and we will give them the best preparation to ensure that they go to Cameroon and excel, so I am very excited that Rohr will help to prepare the team. That shows that the German is here for all round development of the game in Nigeria," Pinnick said.

"The federation will give both the Super Falcons and the Falconets the maximum support they need to come out tops in Cameroon and far away Papua New Guinea for the Under-20 World Cup. We know we have not been able to meet our financial commitments to the teams but I can assure that we shall pay to the last kobo."

He commended Ruth David for organizing the programme and urged players to combine education with their football career for life after retirement, adding that the NFF is of the opinion that a sound education will not only make them better players but help them secure their future.
