Avram Grant wins on his debut as Ghana coach

Ghana coach Avram Grant won his first game in charge on Wednesday when the Black Stars beat Portuguese second-tier Olhanense 3-0.

The match, which was a pre-Nations Cup friendly, was played at the Algave stadium in Portugal.

Grant handed debutants striker Kwesi Appiah and Ibrahim Moro starting roles in what looks like a weakened side.

The Black Stars managed to open a 2-0 lead before the Israeli replaced the entire squad by bringing on the team’s regulars.

Striker Jordan Ayew added the third goal to complete the easy win.

Three players- Kwabena Edusei, Razak Brimah and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu were not used in the friendly

Grant will tonight announce his final 23-man squad for the tournament in Equatorial Guinea and play against German Bundesliga side Freiburg next Wednesday before leaving for Mongomo, their tournament camp base.
