The Leicester City squad is starting to come together as the players given additional time off after playing in internationals have started to join pre-season.

After a week of training, City have flown to Austria for a week-long training camp with nearly a full squad after several internationals returned on Friday.

Jeff Schlupp, who was on international duty with Ghana, is back, while new signings Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki, plus Jamie Vardy fresh from his England debut and Croatia striker Andrej Kramaric, are also now back with the squad.

Only captain Wes Morgan is expected to miss the Austria trip as he is still with Jamaica at the Concacaf Gold Cup in the USA and Canada.

Schlupp said it was great to be back with the rest of his City team-mates.

"I had some extra football straight after (the end of the season) because I was away with Ghana, but I managed to get away after that and spend some time with the family, which is what you need after a long season," Schlupp told lcfc.com.

"I feel like the batteries are recharged now and I'm ready to go for the new season."

City will certainly need to be refreshed and have a zip about them heading into the new season, which kicks off with a home clash with Sunderland on August 8.

"There are some tough games at the start, but you can't complain too much given the start we had last season," said Schlupp, recalling how City had to face Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in their first five games of last season.

"You know you're going to have to play everyone twice and teams will go through good form and bad form, so you've just got to take one game at a time and make sure we're ready on 8 August."

Schlupp scored his first goal for Ghana and signed a new contract with City during the close-season.

"Hopefully I can keep getting called into the squad and it can play a big part in my career." he said.
