Augsburg were held to a 1-1 draw by Union Berlin in a Bundesliga match that saw both sides reduced to 10 players.

Union Berlin’s dismissal in the 19th minute gave Augsburg a clear advantage, and the hosts dominated for much of the game. However, Augsburg could not make their numerical superiority count on the scoreboard.

It was only after the teams had been brought level in numbers that Augsburg finally opened the scoring, with Massengo putting them ahead. Union Berlin responded soon afterwards, Haberer finding an equaliser to secure a point for the visitors.

The result leaves Augsburg ninth in the Bundesliga with nine points. Union Berlin remain in the relegation zone in 17th place, having collected six points.

The table remains tightly packed, with only a small margin separating several teams.
