Atletico Madrid is currently on top of La Liga table, 2 points ahead of Real Madrid, and is looking to secure the League title in the final two games of the season, but Diego Simeone and club management are already planning their moves for next season.
According to Calciomercato.com, the club is preparing to make a move for Rodrigo Bentancur, in what would probably be a swap of players with Juventus.
Bentancur, 23, is coming off a rollercoaster season with Juventus, and the italian club might be willing to move the Uruguayan midfielder in the upcoming transfer window. Simeone, on his part, has always been high on Bentancur, reportedly trying to bring him to Atletico back in 2018.
Juventus thinks Bentancur is worth at least € 40 millions, but a deal could be struck if both sides agree on a swap of players. It is believed that Juventus managing director Fabio Paratici really likes Atletico's Gimenez and Renan Lodi.
The clubs have a good relationship, having struck a deal for striker Alvaro Morata last year.
