Atletico Madrid have taken aim at Jose Mourinho after the coach criticised the refereeing in their 2-1 victory over Real Madrid.
Mourinho was angered by a number of decisions during the fiercely contested Madrid derby. At his post-match news conference, the Portuguese arrived with printed images of incidents he believed should have led to Atletico players being sent off.
The club appeared to respond directly to that unusual presentation in a message posted on social media.
Atletico shared a printer emoji, seemingly referring to the hard-copy evidence Mourinho brought to the media briefing. The post was followed by a short statement: “Stop referee harassment now.”
Mourinho had used the printed photographs to draw attention to two incidents which, in his view, warranted red cards.
