Atletico Madrid are the latest side to join the chase for the reigning CAF player of the year Ademola Lookman who already looks destined to leave Atalanta at the end of the season despite still having two years left on his current deal, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Rumors surrounding the future of the Nigeria international suggest a flurry of interest from some of Europe's most prestigious clubs which includes Inter Milan, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Juventus as they are reportedly monitoring his situation with keen attention.
Buoyed by his impressive performances which have not gone unnoticed in Spain, reports from Marca is indicating that Atlético Madrid have also registered their interest. Indeed, Los Colchoneros have apparently taken concrete steps by initiating preliminary discussions with the player's representatives.
However, it appears that the Madrid-based club currently views the valuation set by his current team as prohibitively high. Lookman has demonstrably excelled on the pitch, contributing a remarkable 18 goals and seven assists in 37 appearances across all competitions hence why it would take a financially buoyant club to acquire his services.
