Atletico Madrid have completed a big-money move to sign Portuguese rising star Joan Felix from Benfica on a seven-year contract.
The 19-year-old attacker is reported to have coast Atleti a club record fee in the region of 120million euros, smashing their previous record of 72million euros which they paid to Monaco for Thomas Lemar.
Joao Felix scored 20 goals in 43 appearances in his first senior season with Benfica, helping the Lisbon club claim the Primeira Liga title - while his form also saw him make his debut for Portugal in their Nations League semi-final win over Switzerland last month.
Atleti are set to lose the services of both France striker Antoine Griezmann and Spain midfielder Rodri in the near future, with the pair headed for Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.
That situation prompted not only a move for Joao Felix, but also one for FC Porto's Mexican midfielder Hector Herrera.
Meanwhile, Brazilian defender Felipe Monteiro has also been recruited from Porto to fill the gap left by the exit of veteran Diego Godin, who has signed for Italian giants Inter Milan.
Herrera, who has earned 70 caps for Mexico and won an Olympic gold medal in 2012, is looking forward to his new challenge, having spent six years with Porto.
He told Marca: "I join with the enthusiasm and desire to contribute my best. I'm very excited, motivated and grateful for the opportunity.
"Atletico was the best option, I think, because of their system, which is perfect for my style of play."
Los Rojiblancos are 16/1 to win La Liga next season, while they are available at 6/1 to triumph in the Copa del Rey.
