The first legs of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round produced a series of decisive results, with ASKO de Kara recording a commanding 5-0 victory away to AS ZAM in Niger.
The result gives ASKO de Kara a significant advantage ahead of the second leg, while Al Ahly Tripoli also secured a convincing away win, beating KMKM 3-0. ZED FC completed another strong performance on Sunday with a 4-0 victory over ASAS Djibouti.
Singida Black Stars were the weekend’s highest-scoring winners, overcoming Al-Ghazala 7-1 away from home. The Tanzanian side’s emphatic success was one of the most eye-catching results in the opening round of ties.
Hafia FC came from their match with a 2-2 draw at AS Douanes, while Shooting Stars edged CS Sfaxien 1-0.
The remaining first-leg matches produced a mixture of narrow victories and closely contested draws. ES Zarzis beat Diambars 3-1, while Hilal Alsahil defeated Welwalo Adigrat 2-1.
Primeiro de Agosto earned a 2-0 away win at Green Mamba, and Black Bulls left Atomic Ngome with a 1-0 victory. Red Arrows also took a two-goal advantage into the return leg after beating Inate Rouge 2-0.
Kabuscorp won 2-0 at UNAM, while FC Diarra recorded a 1-0 home victory over Nations FC. Durban City defeated Rukinzo FC by the same scoreline.
Kitara FC won 2-1 away at Mogadishu City, while Madani and Tusker FC played out a 2-2 draw.
El Kanemi were comfortable 3-0 winners against UDIB, and East End Lions drew 1-1 at Academie de FAD. In another closely fought encounter, Real Bamako beat Vitesse 2-1.
Several other teams were unable to gain an advantage in the first leg. AS PSI drew 2-2 with CO Korhogo, while Panthere and Rayon Sport finished 1-1. Port Louis and Jwaneng Galaxy also shared the points after a 1-1 draw.
