Ashadi Upbeat Katsina United Can Turn Heads

Katsina United playmaker Destiny Ashadi believes his team have found the right blend to match any opponent in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.

Ashadi and his teammates have already claimed the scalps of bigger oppositions in seven-time champions Enyimba and former Cup champions FC Ifeanyiubah, defeating them 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.

They have also won two other games at home – a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes and a 3-0 success over newcomers Go Round FC.

Katsina United’s impressive form since a 2-2 draw with Kano Pillars on the opening day this season, meant they have stretched their clean sheets to 389 minutes so far.

On the back of these impressive stats, though all in home games, Ashadi is confident that the team are beginning to find their feet in the ever tough division after escaping the drop last term.

The midfielder has also played down personal achievements having won three man-of-the-match awards so far.

“We are benefiting from the experience garnered last term. It’s important we keep the tempo and be able to compete favourably, because it is a tough league and only the strong survives. I am not satisfied with the man of the match awards given to me until I make a name for my club,” Ashadi told npfl.ng.
