Asante Kotoko are considering terminating the contract of striker Emmanuel Clottey for non-performance.

The 27-year-old is yet to play a competitive match since joining the Porcupine Warriors at the turn of the year.

Clottey canceled his contract with Tunisian club Esperance to join Asante Kotoko.

But he has been unable to play for the Ghanaian giants because his move was being contested by Esperance at FIFA.

The world football governing body has now ruled that Clottey was wrong in cancelling his contract with Esperance and have thus handed him a hefty $180,000 fine.

Kotoko now say they are considering releasing the player for non-performance.

“It is likely we will terminate his contract for non-performance," Kotoko Operations Manager George Kennedy said.

“He has been unable to perform for us because of this issue so we can terminate his contract for non-performance.”
