Italian Serie A giants AS Roma are set to press ahead with a move for Ghana international Daniel Amartey who plays as a holding midfielder Danish side FC Copenhagen.

The 20-year-old, who was a member of Ghana's silver-winning team at the 2015 AFCON, is a former Liverpool target and wants to play in a stellar league where he can attract attention.

Though Copenhagen have not openly spoken about his future at the club, Scudetto holders Juventus have also been linked with a move for him.

However Roma are eager to sign Amartey who plays as a central defender for Ghana but as a holding midfielder for Copenhagen who won the Danish Cup this season.

Roma have also been reportedly linked with Ghana defender Baba Rahman, who plays for German Bundesliga side Augsburg and has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Rahman played 31 times for Augsburg in the Bundesliga last season.
